Professional Development

ACECQA says that Educators also progress from Belonging and Being to Becoming, and that “becoming” occurs through "growing as a professional”. (ACECQA, 2018) There are many ways that you can support your staff to grow professionally. The  Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership suggests that   ongoing professional learning and growth offer far better outcome than performance reviews or appraisals. (AITSL, 2017)

• What strategic processes do you employ to track professional development?

• Are your Educator professional development plans aligned to your Quality Improvement Plan?

• Are you maximising the professional growth opportunities in your centre?

• Are the individual needs, interests, strengths and learning styles of Educators considered in your professional development plans?

 

This workshop will suggest a variety of strategies to use to develop easy to use Professional Development Plans that are aligned with current best practice. Possible practices to monitor and support the use of PDPs in your centre will also be discussed, including low budget PD ideas.
